Five Splish Splash Attractions Mark Milestone Anniversaries in 2023

On May 27, Splish Splash Water Park will open for its 33^rd season with a schedule packed with more events than ever before. This year, the park also will mark the milestone anniversaries of some of our most popular rides. Let’s take a look at five of them.

1 Year of Hyperlight

Happy 1^st Birthday! Hyperlight debuted on May 28, 2022, which recharged the park’s iconic Abyss ride that opened back in 1992. It created a unique thrill that gives riders the opportunity to choose between two different slides, each offering up to four different light and sound experiences.

The minimum height requirement is 42” (under 42” with an adult and must be able to hold correct riding posture) for guests who want to fly through the 300-foot-long slides on an electric journey that sends them down and around to the pulse of vivid light and dynamic sound. 5 Years of Riptide Racer and Bombs Away

Are you up for the thrill? The ultimate racing slide, Riptide Racer, and our Aqua Launch dueling slide, Bombs Away, opened in 2018. Guests of all ages have enjoyed both these rides for the last five years.

If you’re feeling competitive, line up for Riptide Racer. Four guests lie headfirst on a mat and race down with their friends, family and other park-goers to see who is crowned the champion. Riptide Racer has a greater thrill to it than some of the other water slides in the park. As long as you are at least 42” tall, you qualify for this race.

You also can step up to the pulse-pounding plunge of Bombs Away. Choose your drop tube and feel the anticipation build until the floor disappears from under you. The two 300-foot slides with a 50-foot climb to the top will fuel any rider’s need for speed. With two riders in separate Aqua Launch Capsules, you will see the park from a bird’s eye view before freefalling at 26 feet per second.

Bombs Away is the thrill you’re looking for at Splish Splash. This ride is aimed at teens and adults as guest must be 48 inches tall.

10 Years of Bootlegger’s Run

In 2013, Bootlegger’s Run made history as the first ever water coaster ride in the state of New York featuring new generation hydromagnetic technology. It has grown into one of the most popular rides of guests over the past 10 years.

Bootlegger’s Run takes four-person rafts uphill just like a theme park coaster for a series of breathtaking drops, including one from nearly five stories high. Riders must be at least 42” tall to enjoy this thrilling attraction.

30 Years of Barrier Reef

Avoid a shark attack! Barrier Reef was born 30 years ago when it was unveiled in 1993, just two years after the park opened. Guests at least 42” tall can ride this “Jaws” themed attraction which entices riders with the themed music before they plummet and twist through darkness in this rapid water ride.
